I know why we couldn't just drop it in at the moment; our transmission model needs a bit more work for that. We could drop it in as is but then you'd all be complaining you can't stall and don't need to clutch to change gear. What I don't know is why the designer or producer didn't want me to add it, then I could have made all the necessary improvements. Be happy I at least took the liberty of making neutral available to sequential manuals, before it was only selectable if you had an H shifter.

If enough people ask for it after release, no doubt they'll ask me to do it for the next game. They're very focused on the casual gaming market first, sim racers second, so things like this can get left behind. A large portion of the dev team (and Activision's QA, you should see the bugs I get!) are just into games, rather than being into racing sims or cars at all. You can't blame them for not having the interest but there's not a lot you can do about it apart from pointing things out.

I've now locked the original map so nobody (except me) can edit it anymore. Please see the third attempt at the map at the new thread.

Thanks to all who added their markers to this map, sorry that you all will need to do it again due to a few idiotic individuals.

Great, now somebody moved all the American markers to Mexico and a bunch of others to Greenland. :| If somebody ever does another, will have to make sure it's private somehow, or you can only add to it.

Quote from logitekg25 :yeah im interested in the ps3 version..but g25 support, and what aspects are supported?

Steering wheel, pedals, shifter, and force feedback. Everything except the clutch.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Bob, over at SRD they're saying you won't release due to piracy concerns/iRacing having NASCAR license on PC

Any truth in it? I'm tempted to PM you a link to that threa

You could PM me a link, but to my knowledge, iRacing do not have an exclusive licence.

Quote from Chrisuu01 :Wow that car at infineon looks rather good for a game that isn't full sim.

Depends on your interpretation of "full sim". There are certainly arcade elements to the gameplay, but not the driving dynamics. So as a package it's not a full sim, but turn off the stuff you don't like and get to the driving core and sim racers should be more than happy.

Quote from Chrisuu01 :The developer statded that dont want to compete with full sims but it does look like a nice mix between arcade and sim.

We take the approach of laying arcade aspect over the top of a sim engine, so as to not dilute the driving experience for those who want it. I can't think of a better way to appeal to both sim racers and casual racers without any horrid solutions like toggleable arcade physics.

Quote from danowat :Pushed back release date doesn't guarantee bug free now does it

Not at all. It does guarantee less bugs, though.

Quote from The Very End :But Bob, use the extra time to make a PC version

No new features despite the time extension I'm afraid, it's all for bug fixing and feature polishing. Hopefully the top bods will give PC the green light for the next game. Ed Martin said we don't want to compete with iRacing but I don't think we would be, just because we'd be making a racing game with the same car in on the same platform. Clearly after a different slice of the market.

Do you want a bugged game or not? Better to wait and then enjoy the product.

Sadly there are not. I have always intended on making in translatable, perhaps I should I make that my next goal, as I don't know when I'll make time to work on any more features.

Quote from Dygear :Not from that displacement.

If the power has dropped by a smaller percentage than the rpm, you must have gained torque.

Quote from JJ72 :"Link design and simulation of Article Scawen mentioned that the walls and paddle a lot of hot material, easy to bend."

we need something with more lingo and slangs I guess??

I'd have done my language but that seems a bit pointless, so I pretended I could speak Russian, and voila:

"You will connect construction and the imitation of the article Of scawen mentioned that walls and rinses the much hot material, light in order to bend."

A nice piece of publicity has gone very far for him. Will be great for him to get off the street after so long: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Williams_(announcer). Let's just hope people's trust is not misplaced and he does not return to a life of crime (hopefully one that was only previously driven by necessity). Time will tell.

My 8 year old siemens, now running on a new battery, can last over a week between charges. Monochrome screens ftw!

More on topic, nice to see the Xoom supporting a bunch of audio codecs I've never heard of but not something free like Ogg. What good is a 720p display and H264 video support if all my media content will be played back mute?

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Nope, they ran at speed IIRC

Yes, either into the walls or other cars. Hence the red flag. See: 1 2

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Texas Busch 2002

Once again, wrong series, although I admire your perseverance.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Also, Pocono 1991, Bristol 1990, both ran in rain.
1989, N Carolina, started on a damp track/ran at race speeds :P That WAS racing

I'm losing interest know so won't spend the time researching those, but I'll just say, I'm not sure how relevant some on track precipitation two decades is to a modern game. In any case, you're not getting rain, like it or lump it.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Ahem.

Montreal!

Different series, doesn't count.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :EDIT: Cup series ran at Suzuka in 1997 in the rain

Good spot, but that event was not during the race season, which is what this game is covering.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :, 2001 All-Star race segment in rain. There!

It would seem rain started just as the race did, they found the cars couldn't cope, and the race was stopped as soon as the rain got heavy (still during the first lap!). Close, but not quite wet racing.

Quote from Sueycide_FD :And with Danica being one, im assuming Nationwide Series is in the game.

You assume incorrectly. Not all the drivers from the sprint cup will be featured in the game, so drivers from other series were brought in to make up the numbers.

NTG2011 covers the sprint cup only.

Dustin - is that for the sprint cup though, or one of the other tiers?

Luke - control doesn't get taken from you no matter how damaged your wheels are or what state your tyres are in.

You know I wondered why when I woke up early, it was getting light, but then seemed to get darker again. Not looked outside yet but am leaving for work in 5 mins so will see what I can see on the way.

We wanted to add rain but because the real series never runs in the rain, we are not including it.

The only difference for gampad players is that there is a steering aid forced on. All the aids available in the menus are toggleable, and available for both wheel and gamepad. The only aids forced on (for all controller types) are auto-clutch, throttle cut on upshift, and throttle blip on downshift. Hopefully these too will become toggleable with future titles although more work is needed on the transmission model first, and a decision on how to handle stalling.
